Anuga–Cologne, Germany
The 31st Anuga, which will be held in Cologne from 8th to 12th October 2011, is once again expected to attract around 6,500 suppliers from about 100 countries. The estimated 150,000 international trade buyers will be treated to a superlative supermarket that is clearly organized into 10 trade shows which focus on key themes and enable visitors to directly and easily access the entire range of products on the world market. The biggest and most international of the Anuga trade shows is Anuga Fine Food, the fair for delicatessen and gourmet products and general provisions. The event, which features around 3,500 exhibiting companies, is the most important platform for manufacturers and importers of delicatessen products and their customers from the food trade and the catering sector.
An exciting element this year is Anuga’s partner country for 2011 — Italy. In addition, the continually growing foodservice and catering market is being much more strongly emphasized within Anuga through the new trade show Anuga FoodService, a concept that is generating a very positive response among exhibitors and partner associations alike. The new layout of the trade show Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food is also popular with the suppliers.
“Anuga is once again demonstrating that it is changing with the market and is thus fully exploiting its great innovation potential for the benefit of the exhibitors and visitors,” reports Peter Grothues, VP Food, Technology & Environment at Koelnmesse. “We are looking forward to the coming fair with lots of optimism.”
Anuga will occupy the entire Cologne exhibition centre — a total of 284,000 m2 of gross exhibition space in nine halls, including some with more than one level. The ten sections will include: Anuga Fine Food, Anuga Drinks, Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food, Anuga Meat, Anuga Frozen Food, Anuga Dairy, Anuga Bread & Bakery, Hot Beverages, Anuga Organic; Anuga RetailTec, technology and services for the retail trade; and the new Anuga FoodService.
