Marca by BolognaFiere: Private Label Excellence

The sixth edition of Marca by BolognaFiere – Private Label Conference and Exhibition, will be held in Bologna on 20 to 21 January. Though a robust commercial event, Marca by BolognaFiere is also a platform for training and information that develops at the fair and in a series of appointments during the year. It is the only international event to involve top names in LOD and OD, which besides being members of the Technical Scientific Committee, exhibit at Marca by BolognaFiere and ensure the event’s relevance and dynamism.
Marca by BolognaFiere 2010 will be even more vital to the distribution and promotion of the private label as a strategic growth factor for modern distribution thanks to a partnership agreement signed with ADM (Associazione Distribuzione Moderna). The collaboration between these two leaders will lead to major initiatives and to more precise definition of future editions of the event, guaranteeing the topicality of subject matter through steady contact with the market.
In 2010, Marca by BolognaFiere will once again present So Fresh, the fresh food products conference and exhibition, proposing synergy between production and distribution with attractive business opportunities.
Exhibiting and visiting Marca by BolognaFiere also means meeting top buyers in LOD and OD; participating in conferences, workshops and training/refresher seminars during the two days of the exhibition; making use of a wide variety of business services that BolognaFiere provides to facilitate meetings among operators and the presentation of companies and their products.
The Annual Private Label Report:
Analysis of the market and of its potentials is one of the keys to Marca by BolognaFiere’s success. Every year, the exhibition offers professionals an important analytic tool: the Annual Private Label Report, presenting a detailed look at the market and important data (and ideas) for business planning. The report will be presented at the opening of the exhibition.
Ever since its first edition, Marca by BolognaFiere has been a highly innovative exhibition: not just a fair, but an “exhibition format” that integrates prestigious merchandise sectors with market analyses, conferences, debates, and reports. Marca by BolognaFiere is a tool for analysing market trends and scenarios, a reference point for professionals and for leading brand labels, offering essential information for the development of business opportunities at the domestic and international level.
The main event for analysis of the current market is the presentation of the Annual Private Label Report. Now in its sixth edition, the report provides a detailed view of the market and strategic information for business planning. The report will be presented at the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday, 20 January.
The report will concentrate on four critical subjects for the industry: principal indicators of market share of the private label in Europe, evolution of the Italian market, marketing policies promoted by signs to support private labels, and analyses of innovation, marketing, and supply chain policies implemented by copackers.
The Annual Private Label Report is the result of an annual “observatory” on private labels: a unique Italian project to monitor, analyse, and interpret– with reference to consumer products–trends in private labels as well as the economic/social factors that generate such trends.
Among the many new features enhancing the quality of Marca by BolognaFiere is an interesting consumer survey, to be presented in the afternoon of Wednesday, 20 January.
The survey was co-ordinated by Giampaolo Fabris (Professor of Consumer Sociology at San Raffaele University and Chairman of the degree course in Communication Science of the faculty of Psychology), who will present the results at Marca by BolognaFiere.
Conferences include a meeting devoted to fresh foods (in the morning of Thursday, 21 January) and one organised by ADM (Associazione distribuzione moderna) in the afternoon of Thursday, 21 January.
Numbers:
The exhibition’s growth is clearly demonstrated by a constant increase in professional visitors: the previous edition was seen by 4,500 professional operators, 10% of whom were from 15 foreign countries. BolognaFiere gives great emphasis to internationalisation, developing – in all of its exhibitions – a programme of initiatives aimed at active involvement of foreign exhibitors and operators. Numerous foreign trade delegations will visit the next edition of Marca by BolognaFiere and SO FRESH and will participate in a full schedule of meetings.
